Dead Or Alive 4 has been released and we here at Gamer-Play.com wish to give a honest review of the game that you won't see from other site's like IGN. We have been to the dead or alive 4 official website, read all the info, and this is what we have to say.
As you already know, DOA 4 was released on Xbox 360 in December of 2005. It was released with all the glitz and glamour typically associated with games these days. But there are many problems with the series, and we wish to highlight them here.
One of the problems with DOA 4 is the level of graphical detail it has over its predecessor, DOA Ultimate. The problem is there is very little difference between the graphical level between the two. The power of the Xbox 360 is not readily apparent in this game.
Sure, adding the Master Chief from Halo as a playable character was a neat idea. But adding a few new characters with slightly better graphics doesn't justify the price tag that is being asked to pay for the new game.
Many hardcore fans of the series have become upset with how Tecmo has marketed the franchise. They aren't happy about the announcement of a DOA movie set to be released this year, and many are upset about what seems to be a bunch of reused stuff from DOA Ultimate.
This is seen by the fans as a way of shortchanging the fans by offering trivial things at the expense of real content. The DOA series is also heavily criticized for the sexual objectification of females.
DOA is also criticized by old school gamers who complain that the depth of the game is not as deep as that of Street Fighter or other fighting games.
Due to these severe problems, we here at Gamer Play recommend that you continue to Play DOA Ultimate until the price of DOA 4 drops to buy it if you are a hardcore fan. Otherwise the price isn't worth it.
