Final Fantasy Advent Children Review
Final Fantasy Advent Children was a great movie in a host of different ways. In my opinion, it is the movie which should have been released in theaters instead of Final Fantasy: The Spirit Within. For the most part, final fantasy advent children lived up to its hype, even though there were some things I didn't see which I would have preferred.
The story takes place shortly after the events which occured in Final Fantasy 7. While I want tell you the entire plot, it has a lot to do with Sephiroth clones. All of the characters from Final Fantasy 7 make and appearance in the film, and this is something which pleased many fans. The animation and graphics in the movie are nothing short of revolutionary. The fighting scenes in the movie are extremely impressive and over the top. Despite this, final fantasy advent children left a lot to be desired. There are a lot of things I felt should have been added. I also think the movie was a bit short.
The animation and graphics can easily rival or surpass the imagery seen in the Spirits Within. Advent Children is the movie Squaresoft should have promoted the most It has a much more complex storyline, and follows in the footsteps of Final Fantasy 7, one of the greatest games ever released by the company. At the same time, there are problems with the movie. If you have never played Final Fantasy 7, you will have no idea what the movie is about. This is a serious flaw in the film.
An explanation should have been provided at the beginning of the movie which explains the events of Final Fantasy 7 to those who never played the game Because Squaresoft failed to do this, many of the people watching the movie have no idea what the storyline is about, and will feel alienated. Another issue I had with Advent children was the participation of the other FF7 characters. In the end, Cloud battles Sephiroth alone, and receives only a small amount of support from Yuffie, Barret, and others, but this isn't realistic.
It would have been nice to see Sephiroth transform into Bizarro Sephiroth, as he did in the game. This would allow the other characters to perform their own limit breaks in order to defeat him. This would have made the movie a bit more interesting. Overall, I agree that final fantasy advent children was far better than The Spirits Within, but still far from perfect.
