Top 5 Video Game Villains
One thing I've found great video games have in common is that they all have great villains. In any good game, the villain has to be just as good as the hero in order for the story to work. Many of my favorite characters in video games are villains, and I decided to write this article to showcase which villians I think are the top dogs in the video game world.
Bob Page - Bob Page is the ultimate villain in the first Deus Ex game. He starts out as a protege of Morgan Everett, the head of the Illuminati, and helps him create the AI known as Daedalus. Bob Page soon decides that the Illuminati's methods of world domination are two slow, and starts his own organization known as Majestic 12. Page takes over the resources of the Illuminati and prepares to merge himself with Daedalus, effectively becoming a god. Bob Page is a trillionaire and the CEO of Page Industries, and deeply hates humanity.
Akuma - Street Fighter Series - Though some may argue that Akuma is more of an anti-hero, we put him here because he was a fearsome opponent in the Street Fighter Games who challenged and defeated many people who challenged him. After killing M. Bison, Akuma became the most powerful foe in street fighter. He killed his own brother Gouken, and mastered a forbidden martial arts technique. His name means "devil" in Japanese, and he is a force to be reckoned with.
Sephiroth - Final Fantasy 7 - It is impossible to write an article about great video game villains without talking about Sephiroth. He is the ruthless super soldier who fought Cloud Strife in Final Fantasy 7. He was also responsible for the death of Aeris, one of the most enduring characters in the game. He is the final boss, and must be fought in his two forms before he is defeated. His special attack, the supernova, is one of the most awe inspiring attacks in the video game world.
Apocalypse - Xmen video games/comics - Apocalypse is a powerful villain who first made his appearance in the X-factor # 5 comic in 1986. He was born in ancient Egypt thousands of years ago, and eventually gained immortality. He begin traveling around the world, worshipped as a god, and when he found an alien ship in Mongolia, he killed the occupants and took hold of their alien technology, enhancing his power and allowing him to become one of the most powerful villains who has ever lived. He is able to modify the molecular structure of his body, and can grow to tremendous size.
Kane - Command and Conquer - Kane is a powerful villain who is the head of the Brotherhood of Nod, and organization which acts as terrorists and has somewhat of a religious feel. Little is known about Kane, but it is clear he is a genius and tactician. In Tiberian Sun, he leads Nod to capture a mysterious resource called Tiberium, amassing a large amount of money and resources within a short period of time. He doesn't appear to age.
